Radioactive Seed Implant Programs
for Cancer Treatment
As with any radioactive material, the clinical use of Iodine 125 or Palladium 103 involves many situations which require the expertise of a medical physicist. These can range from the initial application for a radioactive materials license, to calculation of seed patterns and dose distribution, to continuing quality assurance, to direct on-site participation with the physician in the actual brachytherapy implant.
