Planning & Administering
Radioactive Seed Implant Programs
for Cancer Treatment

As with any radioactive material, the clinical use of Iodine 125 or Palladium 103 involves many situations which require the expertise of a medical physicist. These can range from the initial application for a radioactive materials license, to calculation of seed patterns and dose distribution, to continuing quality assurance, to direct on-site participation with the physician in the actual brachytherapy implant.

Treatment Planning Prostate Seed Implant

We perform a pre-treatment volume study to construct an individualized seed pattern and isodose distribution that ensures the prescribed dose is delivered to the target volume as uniformly as possible.

Post Implant Dosimetry (CT based)

We provide CT based post-implant dosimetry with both isodose distributions and dose-volume histograms for documentation and evaluation.

Eye Plaques

Huff Ferras LLC can provide treatment planning, ordering of seeds, eye plaque assembly and radiation safety compliance during plaque placement and radiation treatment. In addition, we can help you avoid delays in delivery of radioactive seeds by working directly with the seed companies to assure timely delivery.

On-site Assistance and Participation

An experienced Huff Ferras physicist can be on-site for your procedures. This service is available on a case by case basis, and offerings include the following procedures:
